The fingers that were combing through his long hair curled into fist and pulled. Duo grimaced but did not give in, he lowered his head and kissed the body beneath him. He drew back sharply as he was bitten. Duo reached up and touched his bleeding lips before leaning down again and kissed the figure again, this time much harder and more forceful.
Heero opened his mouth finally, letting Duo’s tongue inside. Then, catching the long-haired pilot by surprise, he bit down on it. Duo gave a muffled yelp and he raised up again. Heero stared back at him coldly. His strength had been used against him.
"Give me a chance will ya?" His tongue traced the crevices of his ear and sucked at the base of his neck. Heero tried to pulled his arm away but found that Duo has securely trapped his wrist with his hand, pinning it down at the edge of the bed. The pain resulting from the pressure prevented the Japanese pilot from using his strength. "I know, you don’t trust me but I also know how you feel toward me ... " Heero turned his head away when Duo attempted to kiss him again.
"All right, so I guess you don’t like that. Tell me what you want me to do then eh?"
"Get lost."
"I was lost already, the first time I saw you." The tongue lapped at the hardening nipples. The body beneath him stiffen and shuddered. He continued his exploration downward, admiring the flawless body, tracing the lines of every muscle, kneading and tasting it. Duo had been waiting for this for too long, and he couldn’t get enough of it. He bent Heero’s knees and knelt between them, making sure that the Japanese pilot couldn’t escape.
"Just trust me for once Heero." He bent down and took Heero’s member into his mouth, drinking it, savoring the taste and the elixir that was waiting to be released. Every drop and every part of it, Duo wanted it all.
"No."
Heero felt Duo stiffening suddenly and then the sharp pain that he was not prepared for, the pain that had taken him by surprise. He shut his eyes. It was too late to stop what had happened. He should have known that no matter how he dealt with Duo, it would have come to the same result at the end.
The feeling of ecstasy of being united with someone so dear, the heat and the desire that is all so overwhelming. Duo went inside again, feeling himself melting within, inside of him, like molten and lava. He went in deeper, wanting it all, again and again, until he spent his passion, shooting his desire inside of the sacred channel; and collapsing upon Heero in the aftermath.
There was silence in the room afterwards. Heero didn’t move as Duo slowly raised up. He caressed that beautiful face and kissed Heero tenderly, apologizing for his act of passion, and nuzzled against the Japanese pilot. "I love you Heero."
The pair of beautiful blue eyes that stared back at him were even colder than usual. "I hate you."
Their mission was to destroyed the OZ base at sector 5. It shouldn’t be that difficult given the fact that they had everything planned out. Due to the size and security of the base, the only way to cause enough damage in order to disable the base was by detonating it. Heero did a preliminary scan of the base and located the bomb. He memorized the map before erasing the data file, destroying any traces of evidence.
"Ready to go?" Duo leaned against the door with his arms crossed over his chest. This was an important mission but neither of them could use his gundam because there was no place or room to hide it. Duo checked his assortment of weapons when he realized that Heero was not going to answer him. It hurt him to know that Heero really did hate him after all.
Heero looked up at the American pilot, his expression unreadable. Duo shifted uneasily. "Well? You ready? Or are you just nervous?" Without answering, Heero pushed past Duo and went out the door.
Duo sighed and looked out the window as Heero drove silently next to him. This was one of the most dangerous assignments. There were traps everywhere, not to mention the fact that it would be difficult to get pass the security with all those weapons that they were carrying.
"Hey you, what are you doing here?" One of the guards knocked on the car window. Heero rolled it down.
"Fixing the wires," Heero handed the guard the access card before driving pass him. They were now inside enemy territory.
"Okay Heero, I’ll go to the control room, you cover me," Duo rearranged his weapons and brushed away his bangs nervously. Why was he feeling so nervous anyway? It wasn’t as if he hadn’t done this before.
"You stay outside. I’m faster," Heero punched in the access code and opened the gate. "If I don’t come out in two minutes, leave." The gate closed between them and locked itself automatically.
"What?!!!" Duo banged at the gate. "Hey! What is the meaning of this?! Damn you Heero!" Two minutes, there was no way that Heero could make it in two minutes. Duo couldn’t believe that Heero’s self-destructive tendency had surfaced again at such an inopportune time. There was a sound behind him. Duo spun around and fired. One guard down. Duo looked before him and found that there were more of them coming his way. He glanced at his watch- one minute and three seconds. Yes, he could take them down within the time frame…for Heero.
Heero looked behind him carefully in order to avoid being caught. He took out the screwdriver and carefully unscrewed the nails. It was too risky to detonate the bomb through the computer system, he would have to do it manually. He crossed the wires and snapped the other one in two. He took out another spare wire and carefully connected the broken wire with the newly crossed wire. Then he reached underneath and switched on the control that was hidden beneath the mass of wires. The irreversible detonation process had been activated. He had five minutes to get out of the place.
There was a click behind him and Heero froze. "Get up!" A harsh voice commanded him. "What the hell are you doing?" The gun was pressed against his back, it would be easy for the person to shoot right now and Heero knew that he would have to wait for the right moment to catch the man off guard.
"I asked you what the hell you’re doing here?!" Heero pointed at the mass of wires. "What…?" The man leaned forward to get a closer look and Heero turned around, grabbed the man and threw him over his shoulder. There was the sound of a shot fired.
Duo wiped away the blood at the corner of his mouth. There were no more guards coming this way for now, but he knew that soon everyone at the base would be looking for him. He looked at the gate in alarm when he heard the shot. After what seemed to be an eternity, the gate opened and revealed a wane Heero. "Heero I-"
"We have less than two minutes," Heero grabbed Duo’s wrist and pulled him along, running.
"Heero, I heard a gunshot," Duo looked at Heero with concern. Something wasn’t right but he couldn’t place his finger on it.
"When the bomb goes off, the sector will be destroyed in sections," Heero spoke in a low voice, as if he was talking to himself. "We might have a few extra seconds."
"Damn!" Duo whipped out his gun when he saw the guards. Heero threw a hand grenade at the guards behind him while Duo took care of the ones in front. There was a shot fired closed to them. Duo turned around in alarm.
"Let’s go!" Heero didn’t seem to notice how close that shot was to them. The exit was right up front. Duo started to punch in the access code only to find it denied. He cursed under his breath as he tried again. "Dammit! Heero, help me with this will you?!!"
Heero didn’t seem to be listening. He slumped against the wall as if he was running out of breath. Then he looked up and cocked his head to one side to listen. "Time’s up."
"Shit ... " Duo muttered under his breath. They were so close to escaping. He couldn’t believe they were going to die here.
They saw the fire before they heard the explosion. Duo stood frozen at the spot as he saw the fire coming this way. The whole complex shook and gave away to the force of the explosion. He felt the heat of the fire and smelt the chemical, he could almost feel the pain. Duo threw up his arms over his face and the next thing he knew, a body had knocked him over almost the same time he was being swept away by the force of the explosion. Then, all was silent.
When he opened his eyes again, it was debris all around him. It hurt everywhere. Duo reached up and touched a sore spot on his head and felt some sticky fluids there- blood. With a groan he struggled to sit up, and that was when he realized there was another body on top of him.
"Heero!!" The Japanese pilot’s eyes were closed and his breathing was shallow. "Heero!" Duo shook him desperately. "Answer me!"
The blue eyes that opened to meet his were different from the ones he had seen in the past. They were no longer cold, there was something else in them. Was it sadness? Duo couldn’t tell but he knew, it was definitely emotions that Heero was feeling right now. Duo sat up and gathered Heero close to him. The body in his arms were limp and cold. Duo felt something wet soaking his arms and sleeves and when he raised his arm, it was blood he saw. "Oh god ... "
"I know ... " The voice was weak, but it was Heero’s voice nevertheless. He grimaced in pain and coughed up blood.
"Why ... ?" Heero had shielded him with his body when the bomb detonated. Duo knew that the wound was fatal, Heero didn’t have much time left.
"I lied."
"What are you talking about Heero?!" Duo felt this anger inside of him. He didn’t know if he was angry at himself or at Heero. All he knew was that there was nothing he could do for Heero, not even alleviating his pain. He clenched his fists and shook his head in dismay as unstoppable tears made their way down from the corner of his eyes. "Damn you!"
"I’m sorry ... " Trembling and bloody fingers wiped away at his tears tenderly. Duo closed his eyes. "I lied ... I ... can’t let ... anyone love me." Heero swallowed with some difficulty but a trail of blood still escaped from the corner of his mouth. "I ... had killed and caused enough ... people pain. I ... can’t let ... you suffer ... "
"You ... bastard," But Duo wasn’t angry anymore, if things weren’t this hopeless he would had wanted to knocked some sense into the Japanese pilot. "You should know that I wouldn’t give a shit!"
"I do ... love ... you ... " Heero smiled up at him as his hand slowly slid down from Duo’s face. "Kiss me ... goodbye." He closed his eyes and tilted his head upward.
Duo choked back his tears and leaned down, touching his lips to Heero’s, tasting the bitter sweet blood. Duo closed his eyes as well and lingered there for as long as he could, savoring a moment that was too short. When he opened his eyes again, Heero was gone.
Duo took Heero’s body back to the headquarters, where he was given a funeral and burial in which Duo did not attend. One goodbye was enough.
