Makoto Mitzuhara

"If he's superhuman, then maybe I am... the again, maybe not."

Makoto Mitzuhara is the protagonist of El-Hazard, if you will. He is a student of Shinonome High School who overheard the current student body president, Katsuhito Jinnai, and another person from the baseball club talking about diverting school funds so that  Jinnai could be elected.  Makoto is the key witness for Jinnai's public trial.  It was the night where Jinnai tried to ambush him to keep quiet where he encountered Infurita and was transported to El-Hazard along with Jinnai, Nanami and Mr. Fujisawa.  Makoto's special ability that he aquired is the ability to interface with any of the ancient El-Hazard devices, including Infurita.  With this power partly, he has changed Infurita will to exist.  Infurita exists only to see Makoto. Likewise for Makoto, his driving force to figure out how the Eye of God works is to get  back to Infurita.
